Leila Yassami has been an artist for over twenty years. She is a graduate of the National Academy of Design in Manhattan, and has studied many years at the Art Student League of New York. She has had the opportunity to work under the direction of several reputable artists including James Childs, Peter Cox, Dan Thompson, Gregg Kreutz and the world renowned artist Nelson Shanks. She is a member of the National Arts Club, the Portrait Society of America, the Art Student League of NY, the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club and the Allied Artists of America. After having her work accepted in the Grand National Exhibition three years in a row, she is now a fellow member at the American Artists Professional League. Leila’s interest is mainly in the classical and impressionist styles. She has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Manhattan; including the Cork Gallery at Lincoln Center, New York, the National Academy Museum, School of Arts, New York, and the Phyllis Harriman Mason Gallery, New York. She obtained honorary awards for her still life paintings from the American Artist Professional League still life theme show 2014 and the 87th Grand National Exhibition 2015. Additionally her still life painting was accepted at a special online exhibition by the Allied Artists of America. In 2016 her portrait painting was accepted for the AAPL theme show 2016, and her landscape painting was accepted for the AAPL landscape, seascape and streetscape theme show 2016. Additionally her still life was accepted in the Meritorious entry for the Richeson 75 still life and flora 2016 competition. Her still life painting was accepted at the AAPL 88th Grand National Exhibition. Her still life was awarded a placement in the 11th year Members only Competition at the Portrait Society of America.
